Energy Storage is a huge opportunity for the lead battery industry in the future. This presentation will discuss the work CBI is undertaking aimed to increase the uptake of lead batteries in this emerging market. Areas for discussion include-the new CBI technical program, communications and marketing work, and a new government funding drive. Examples will be provided regarding successful bids including a microgrid project funded by the EU Horizon Europe Initiative, a sustainable microgrid connected to a solar powered tractor funded by Innovate UK and a tactical microgrid system funded by the US military.

Bio

Alistair Davidson is Director of CBI, managing all the consortium’s work programs. Alistair attended the University of Oxford and obtained a PhD at the University of Edinburgh. He has lectured at both Washington State University, US and the University of Chongqing, China.

Carl Telford: Over 20 years experience in strategic research, consulting, and R&D. An expert in futures thinking, roadmapping, and facilitation. In his career to date, Carl has helped major public and private organisations across the world develop strategies, with particular experience in the automotive, off-highway, energy and infrastructure, and chemicals and materials sectors. His academic background includes a PhD in materials engineering.
